Brayton has grown over the past year; his achievements have shown through this blog in capturing memorable moments over his year. Learning and expressing himself through this technological media class has prepared him to communicate through different resources available and as they develop additional resources will help him advance and become a successful young adult. This I Believe Essay
Sometimes in the world things may not go right. There may be times when things may go the way you want it to. But also there is always times where things don't go the way you want it to. As people like to winning is everything. To me I believe that it isn't because it's how you respond from not your way.
On a early December morning we got the news of one of our own passing away. We couldn't believe how this could have happen. He was always such a happy and enjoyable person to be around. He would lighten up your day with a slight joke or the smile he would always has. But we had to go on with our baseball season and continue with only the memories of him. We would never see him again.
As the season would continue on the varsity would then dedicate the season to him. They went the season undefeated again into the OIA baseball playoffs. They knew that we were doing it for something bigger than us. All the hard work that we had endured was paying off. They knew that he was always there for us along the path. But this was where it counted.
The enjoyment of just being there on the side just watching the varsity being so close to being the OIA champions. Just one more out, with the crowd to it's feet and roaring for just one more out. "Pack" the ball was hit just to the shortstop and was fielded cleanly and was thrown to 1st base. The 1st baseman caught it and then ran in to the pitcher in celebration. The crowd roaring as the final out happened and clapped in approval. Just winning the championship was so amazing and dream setting that was finally accomplished.
But from there everything would then just turn south. The team would win 2 games against Baldwin and Hilo. That would set up another game just like the OIA championship game against Pearl City. It was the bottom of the 6th where it was tied 0-0 when Bronson would hit a double in the left center gap. Then came up Kamalu where he hit the first pitch he saw into the same spot and scoring Bronson from second. When Bronson scored the whole team would run out and jump in excitement. The crowd was going crazy and everyone thought that it was meant to be and they would win the game. But in the bottom of the inning the first batter got on base and then we got 2 outs in a row and the a double was then hit giving runners on 3rd and 2nd. Moanalua fans yelling for just one more out.Then came up Bronson's cousin and hit a ball up the middle scoring the 2 runners and Pearl City's fans yelling in approval. Then the bottom of the inning came and we got 3 straight outs and we just lost the game.
So through everything that happened that night is that even though at one moment you may feel on top of the world but the next could bring you right back down. But even though we lost we still know that our friend is still with us and protects us every game we play and always takes care of us. Also I learned that even though things may not go your way make the best of it and bounce back instead of sulking on it. This I believe. This i believe makes everyone enjoy everyday.

Project Icarus Journal #2
For my Project Icarus I am planning to bake a banana cream cake. In the past I would only bake cupcakes and sometimes cakes. But this banana cream cake was special because my mom would always make it for my family for dessert and also for my potluck for baseball. My mom has agreed to be my mentor as she wants me to keep the recipe of her banana cream cake going through the next generation.
So first I came up with idea of banana cream cake because everyone that had eaten the cake would ask me how my mother had made it but I wouldn't know because my mother had never told me how she had made it. But everytime someone had eaten it they would say that it was very delicious. so me and my mother has decided that she would teach me how to make this type of cake so that I can pass it on to the next generation and also to others that haven't tried it before. So when I first made it, I felt so successful because that was the first time I had every made it. I was a hard process because everything had to be precise unlike cupcakes. So just having the satisfaction of making this cake for the first time and everyone in my family liking it was very pleasing for me to know because I wouldn't know how anyone would like it since it was my first time.
Even though this experience was about making a cake, it also made me and my mother closer because she was the one that got passed down the recipe from my grandma and now just being the next generation from her to know it just made it felt more special. Also it really gave me a sense of accomplishment since I don't really bake cakes that often made me even more happy.

- My "impact activity" is creating a recipe for banana cream pie. I wanted to do this because throughout my family history, all of my family members know how to make this pie except me. So I'm gonna be learning through my mother because she is a very good baker and makes things for dessert during family gatherings.

Essential Questions:
- My passions are baseball, and making new things. These are my passions because I dedicate myself to baseball for like a year as I have seasons, practices, and take time on weekends to make myself better at it. I enjoy making new things because it expands my knowledge and makes me learn new things in the world I never knew. For example when I first started making new kinds of food like beef broccoli I felt so successful and from there I learned that making food and new things were something I really enjoyed.
- Something that motivates me towards learning is the success feeling you get when you accomplish something. For example when I was in 8th grade and I got a 4.0 I had a accomplished feeling that really motivated me to do good because before and that I really didn't have a purpose to go to school and from then I really push myself to get that same kind of feeling I got. Also just to get that kind of feeling makes me feel like I really mean something to the world as I'm not just another person in school.
- Some skills that I mastered is patience and dedication. I mastered these skills because I have been through so much I have learned to be patient and not force things because there is always so thing that happens if you try to just force things to happen. For example when you are baking things you need patience on waiting for your end product to come out instead of trying to take it out of the oven too soon or else it wouldn't turn out the way you want it to. Also it takes dedication because baking is something you can't just do when you want without it getting boring. If you had dedication baking would be something you like doing instead of just another thing that you have to do.
-School is important because without an education you wouldn't be able to get a good job or go to a good college. Also it creates opportunities for you to have success in your life as in different majors in college. Also it gives you information that you wouldn't get if there were no school which would give you a more harder life. Also it gives people an opportunity to others to meet others. And finally school is a way for some people to take of some stress they have at home and gives them people to express them to.

Project Icarus Journal #1
1. My passion is making different kinds of food. I think of it as something I enjoy doing and always having fun at it no matter if it gets boring after a while. It really makes me learn patience and dedication to really succeed if I want to be good.
2. I will use recipes from online along with recipes from my mother to make different kinds of foods. I will access these questions when I see my mother and also when I look on the internet, instead of just staying on facebook I will try look on different recipe websites.
3. I want to know the different ingredients and different methods people use to make a specific type of food. Also I want to learn how different kinds of cultures have different kinds of foods.
